Bob Woodruff has covered major stories for ABC News since 1996 and was named co-anchor of World News Tonight in December 2005. In January 2006, while reporting in Iraq, he was seriously injured by a roadside bomb. Last October, he sat down with James F. Hoge of Foreign Affairs magazine at NYC's 92nd Street Y to discuss the role of the war correspondent and reflect on America's role in the world. Woodruff and his wife, Lee co-wrote a memoir, In an Instant (just released in paperback), chronicling his recovery and how their family persevered. In this video clip, he talks about the painful process.
