In Spore you "evolve" creatures by "intelligently designing" them, so in that sense, Spore does feature "evolution". The version of intelligent design that you reference and that has failed to make it into public schools is essentially creationism, which states that there was no evolution and life began in its current form. Spore's main gameplay feature can be described with the broad definition of "evolution", but not the specific one you clearly plucked from Darwin's theory of evolution.
