Soundtrack from The Mod Squad (MGM 1999)Lauryn Hill (LH):(watch this...) Exhausting every chanceThese victims of circumstanceDancing the circle of confusionWith cold musesWrap their soul with a tight gripThen uses upAll your powerWhile the weak man he losesAnd is depoweredWhen a man speak now he refusesTo remember the abusesAnd all the people he misusesand there aint no excusesCos in every situation man choosesHis own plate, his own fate, his own dateAt redemption, and only fools and babies get exemptionCos, in the here after school, see we all stay for detentionAnd did I mentionIts either ascention or dessention, no third dimension, so pay attention...Curtis Mayfield (LH in background):How did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm gonePorched up in a rocking-chairWith my feet all bareRolling my blunt in a cigar wrapLive an adolescent mindnever do take the timeWaiting for my high, quiet as it's keptHow did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm goneMama told me I was bestArgue and punch in my chestSon now be strong, let me take you homeI'd see in her eyes so sincereScreaming, what got me hereStanding in the world and with my mind all blownHow did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm goneHow did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm goneI do nothing but waste all my timeLeaving the world behindSmoking my crack just to keep me highAround the boys I play my part roughKeep myself tough enoughNever to cryNever to dieHow did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm goneHow did I get so far goneWhere do I belongAnd where in the world did I ever go wrongIf I took the time to replaceWhat my mind erasedI still feel as if I'm here but I'm gone.

Curtis is one of a kind, the best artist of our times. Lauryn Hill is the nicest female to spit bars she nicer than 99 percent of the male rappers. And she got a voice like no other.

Tight song. Best duet with a dead man that I've ever heard. Better even the "Lights Down Low."
