He was absolutely monumental in his work - a prolific artist that worked hard to gain his way to the top. He rocketed to the very centre of the hearts of critics and art dealers during his time, four hundred years back or so. It's just his personality that he placed into his artwork that creatyed one of the most prodigiously controversial peices of artwork the world ever saw. He was a homosexual and loved the company of male models but that was his artwork personified in the heart of art.

Se avesse potuto dipingere senza l'oppressionedella chiesa, oggi i nostri occhi vedrebbero l'arte di questo genio in tutta la sua completa magnificenza!

This is a nice video of his work. The only thing I'd change is the soundtrack. My first choice would be a Carlo Gesualdo (1561-1613) madrigal. They were contemporaries and both very troubled personal lives and both were murderers with impeccable artistic taste.

he didn't capture it. The camera obscura did. All he did was paint over the reflected image.
