Learn the tricks of casting on to 2 circular needles, joining, and knitting around. You'll learn about the "udder needle," napping and resting, that it doesn't matter whether the inside or outside of the knitting shows, how to find your way if you put your knitting down, and more. Cat is the author of two sock books: NEW PATHWAYS FOR SOCK KNITTERS, and her original book which started the entire 2-circular needle knitting craze, SOCKS SOAR ON TWO CIRCULAR NEEDLES.

Thanks. We have yellow(Y) stitches as the beginning of cast-on, next comes lime(L), blue(B), purple(P), and dark pink(R) as the end of cast-on. After slipping the extra yellow stitch over to other needle, you knit those stitches in the direction of stitches in color of RPBLY. Will it be OK if: with 13 stitches on needle that consists of end of cast-on, slip extra Red stitch over to the other needle. Then knit in the direction of stitches in the color of YLBPR?

I'm afriad I cannot understand your question. But the join would work the same way with 2 needles or 1.

At 2:00, you slip the start of the cast-on (white)stitch over to the end of the cast-on (purple/red). And you knit (?backward); from the end toward the start of the cast-on. If i were to knit in 1 circular, i thought i could start knitting in the round; continuing in the same direction as the casting-on. What is the difference?

The sound is very fuzzy. Can you post a higher quality sound file? I can't rate more than three otherwise. Thanks.

Use the smaller needle on the sole and the larger on the top of the foot - then the sole will be slightly denser fabric which will also wear better. So yes, you can use this combination.

Thanks for posting this. It's very helpful!I have one pair of US 6 circ needles and one pair of US7 circ needles. Would it be very bad to use them both with this technique? Or are they close enough and will it all even out "in the wash"?
