feh, let GM die. Fuel cells are garbage below 6 degrees. They don't work. Stupid GM, just trying to get a grant. I don't care if I drive a Chevysler or a Fordiac or whatever.

New fuel cells don't need platinum.Oxidized nickel for example beat the air breakdown issue via an oxidizer on surface.

I hiope GM continue to be alive, the problem is Economy is bad, the sales went to the drain, The rest of the world needs new alternative fule sources, Espcially in 2008 Summer fuel cost went too high killed the market badly, now fuel low, people know that time for a change. I hope GM can come back.

That serie of topgear was full of lies.The 2 big lies:- They never ran out of juice..( they only drove 55 miles )- With the charger delivered with the tesla you can charge it in 3,5 hours instead of 16.Don't take that show to serious.

Fuel cells? we have them on school.They get worse over time. Cost ALOT !!What about efficiency?Making hydrogen will get you losing 60-50%Transport not sure. Average bottles now used leak.Fuel cells have efficiency of 50% depending on the current drawn from it.Then fuel cells car also have small battery's.Because you cant draw current directly from a fuel cell. It will destroy the fuel cell.Then to a electric motor 90% eff.You end up with a lower efficiency then patrol cars!

g0m99, I'm aware of my battery replacement plan, & it's nothing compared to the cost of Hydrogen fuel & a replacement fuel cell. Fuel cells use platinum for the catalyst, which deteriorates after 50,000 miles. I assure you the price of platinum is not going down, and replacements will cost well over $5000.The most recent Phosphate-based batteries last upward of 20 years and can be installed without paying a technician. They're already being used & have much higher output than any FC concept.
