I think he did a good job with this. Pretty funny, but the one thing I hate is his dancing. I know the dances and choerography but he does it too fast and quick! I like it smooth and sexy... if you know what I mean. And NO, he doesn't stand a chance against Joel Grey or Alan Cumming... but, he still is funny qith some "added" stuff! :)

All I have to say is, "Scoreboard". You can hear people loving it and going somewhere away from the bustle of the city for a while. Great job John Stamos!

Stamos was good as the emcee, but he can't compare to Joel Grey and Alan Cumming. Grey played the part a bit evil and as if he truly was the emcee. Cumming played the emcee as more naughty and seemed to be having a spontaneous interaction with the audience, even though he was in full control. Stamos seemed to be acting a part and making choreographed moves and was more tongue in cheek than evil or risque as Grey and Cumming were. Only problem with Alan is that he gets too risque at times.

Sorry, but my previous comment did not state that I have to date not found a full recording of the John Stamoa version of Cabaret the revival. There is a version of most of the complete play with Alan Cummings. It is on You Tube and is the "Donmar Warehouse" production of the play in about seventeen scenes. It was made for TV so it is CLOSE to the play on stage, but like the movie version with Joel Grey, it was a bit sanitized and de-sexualized.

This version with John Stamos, in my opinion, is so far the best interpretation of the Emcee. It's more androgenous, less femmy, and may confuse one. John plays the part as masculine with little hints of femininity. Confusing at best, sexy, cute, and sometimes disturbing. Watch the whole play. The ending is disturbing and sad and maya shed some light on his character.

He's not gay enough but is better than Adam as Emcee I'm afraid
