Yes, infantry is combined as OSUT, one station unit training. BCT and AIT are combined at FT. Benning. The class you enlist under is 11x. It is not your MOS. During the AIT phase, you may be selected to be 11b or 11c(mortars). And to settle the confusion, there are 3 types of "Rangers". #1 Any MOS can go to Ranger School and get the tab. #2 A soldier in the 75th Reg. that has not been to Ranger School. And #3 a soldier who is part of the 75th and went to Ranger School and got the tab.

Training is 14 weeks. 9 weeks of basic followed immediately by AIT. This is called OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at Fort Benning.

personally i think your full of shit because you have no idea wat your talking about RIP and ranger school are 2 different things you didnt go to RIP you wouldve went to ranger school to get the tab and let me think when was the last time i saw a medic with a tab? how about almost never

Hey can anyone tell me if BCT and AIT for 11b are immediatley after each other. Im about to turn 17 yr old junior in HS and am going to enlist but because of school i cant do AIT until after highschool. Can I still enlist as 11b?

Better be ready for that Tan Beret. RIP ain't no joke. And any MOS can go to RIP, not just the 11 series or Cav. Scout, but in order to be an actual Ranger, you do. Even if you are 92G, you can still go do RIP and earn that skill tab. Hell, I'm a 68W, and I did it. Hooah.

if you really want to be a ranger ask for a option 40 in your contract, but make sure you are a frickin beast dude. i mean an animal, mentally and physically tough. if not your just wasting your time

11x is an undesignated MOS. It could be11B-Infantryman11C-Indirect Fire InfantrymanTo become a Ranger, you have to be on Infantry combat MOS (you can join 19D Calvary Scout too) and need to go trough Airborne training.Ranger is a light infantry but is part of the special forces community. The other is Green Beret and Delta Force (under the Dept. of Army).Good luck!
