And I didn't say it was a mistake either. I was responding about the gas masks and attire. Since it was the last great war (it was even called that before WWII), it make sense to reference it at that time. I understand it scared you as a kid, but no need to be so sensitive about it now.

I think everyone knows that. But 1922 was post WWI too, so you don't automatically assume that anything post WWI is as late as 1939. No one said anything about it being a mistake on the animators part.

Thats because WWI was the last great war before this cartoon was made. WWII was underway with the USA entering two years later. The animators knew what they were doing.
