Just testing out a newly acquired guitar. A national El trovador said to be one of the finest wood body resonator guitars ever made. Not sure about that but I know it's aweful sweet and uniquely warm, full and has a nice old fashioned sound quality you can't completely hear in new instruments. Nothing is more clear than when in the same room or standing 100 feet away. My friend today said he could hear me playing all the way down the block. And clear as day. This is going to compliment my other blues tools and thanks PappaD for making it possible for me to buy this guitar. You can buy a reissue from National. See Mike Dowling website. He helped with that project and knows them inside out. He's also a killer musician.

My wife has one of these - neither of us is a guitar player - which belonged to her dad, who bought it new in or about 1933. Thank you for demonstrating how great this instrument can sound. You've certainly given me a new appreciation for what this instrument IS.

I have one like this except it is a Harmony, and it doesn't have the same cone or headstock but it's nice and old sounding. I think it was made in 1936 and I've never seen another like it anywhere.
